Lähiaikoina olen saanut paljon käsitöitä valmiiksi, mutten ole niitä ehtinyt täällä vielä esitellä. Esittelenpä siis nyt lyhyesti muutamia tuotoksiani. Saman verran tai enemmänkin on vielä työn alla tai suunnitteluvaiheessa, ei vain tunnu aika tai viitsimys riittävän kaikkien valmistukseen.

Recently I've managed to finish a lot of different kinds of crafts, but I haven't had time to blog about them. So here they are, the things finished so far. I have atleast as much waiting to get finished or even started. I just don't seem to have the time or energy for them all right now.
Ensimmäisenä esittelyssä on koiran paita. Raukalla oli paukkupakkasilla kylmä, joten tein hieman lämpimämmän paidan, jossa on sivussa napitus. Napitus auttaa pukemaan paidan niin, ettei sitä tarvitse aina laittaa pään yli, sillä sehän ei koiran mielestä ole yhtään hauskaa. Selässä on luut ristissä -kuvio, jotta katu-uskottavuus säilyisi, sillä koirien mielestä vaatteet ovat hirveän noloja pitää päällä.

First I have this dog sweater. My dog was freezing in the about - 20 degrees celcius weather a few weeks ago, so I made him this swaeter with buttons on the side. The buttons make it easier to put on the sweater in a way that it doesn't have to be pulled over the dog's head, since that's no fun at all. The crossed bones pattern in the back keep up his tough dog appearance even though clothes are usually rather embarrassing to wear, says the dog.
Toinen neulomani asia on kaverille tekemäni kaukosäädinteline. Teline on kudottu sekä huovutettu suorakaide, johon ompelin muutaman eri lokeron sekä nappeja ripustukseen. Toivottavasti pian pysyvät kaukosäätimet järjestyksessä, vaikken vielä ole telinettä päässyt kaverilleni viemäänkään. Pitäisi tehdä tällainen varmaan itsellenikin.

Next knitted thing is this remote control holder I made for my friend. It's been knitted and felted, just a rectangle which I then sewed up to make a few different sized compartments and some buttons for hanging. Hopefully soon she will be able to keep her remotes organised. I haven't yet had a chance to give it to her. I should probably make one for myself aswell.
Neuloin itselleni myös tällaiset nyöritetyt ranteenlämmittimet, joita pidinkin hieman kylmemmällä kelillä eräällä keikalla. Talvisen lämmintä keikkavarustusta siis.

These laced up wrist warmers I knitted for myself and wore them on a gig on a cold day. Wintery warm gig garments.
Olen myös ehtinyt toteuttaa jo parisen vuotta mietinnässä olleen ompeluprojektin, joka oli todella helppo tehdä, mutta jotenkin ompelukoneen kaivaminen kaapista on aina työn takana. Ompelin itselleni vihdoin uuden essun vanhan yläasteella tehdyn liukuvärjätyn vaaleanpuna-lila-vaaleansinisen liskohirvityksen tilalle. Pidin essun pituudesta, maahan saakka, mutta muuten se oli aika kamala. Käytinkin vanhaa essua kaavana uuteen.
Uusi essu on tietenkin musta ja kangasvärillä kuvioin sen veriroiskeen kaltaisesti. Punainen olisi saanut olla hieman vähemmän pinkki, mutta ei parane valittaa, kun uusi essu on niin paljon parempi kuin vanha. Sille tuli jopa jo käyttöä kakkumaratoonissani. Tein essulle kaveriksi neljä keittiöpyyhettä, sillä kaupasta saatavat vaalean väriset keittiöpyyhkeet menevät ruman ruskeiksi hyvin nopeasti, eikä lika lähde pesussakaan. Kaksi pyyhkeistä on veren tahrimia, kaksi pelkkiä mustia. Nyt ei jää lika näkymään.

Finally I managed to make something that has been in the back of my head for the past two years. It was a really easy project, but somehow there was an obstacle between me and the project, probably in the form of "meh, I cba to get the sewing machine on the table". So, I finally sewed myseld a new apron, the old one being this horrible tie died pink-lilac-light blue lizard abomination I had made in a 7th grade craft class. I liked the floor length but that's about it. That's why I also used the old apron as a pattern for the new one.
The new apron is of course black and I made some blood spatter pattern on it with a red fabric paint. The red could have been less pink but I won't complain, it's much better than the old one anyway. It even got to good use in my cake marathon. I made four kitchen towels to match the apron, since the light colored ones they sell in stores get ugly brown fast when used and washing won't help. Two of the towels are blood stained, two of them are just black. Now the dirt won't show anymore.
Viimeinen projektini on kattokruunun tuunaus. Ennen se oli hieman tylsän näköinen ruskein polttamattomin kynttilöin, mutta nyt siitä tuli enemmän oman kaltaiseni. Maalasin joitakin risuja mustiksi ja ripustin niitä kattokruunuun. Vaihdoin kynttilät mustiin, poltin niitä hieman ja valutin mustaa steariinia kynttilöiden varsille. Pidän tuosta valunut steariini -efektistä kynttilöissä. Lampun kuvulle oli tarkoitus tehdä myös jotain, mutten sitten uskaltanut alkaa sitä maalailemaan.

The last project was my tuning of the chandelier. Before it was a bit dull with its brown candles that had never been burned. Now it looks more like me. I painted some branches black and hung them on the chandelier. I also changed the candles into black ones, burned them slightly and dripped some additional stearin on them since I like the effect it brings. I was meant to do something for the lampshade, but I didn't dare start painting it after all.
